1) Our Museums, as an non-profit cultural entities, are legally incorporated in Malaysia, also as institutional member of UNESCO-International Council of Museums, ICOM ( Maritime Archaeology Museum,”MAM”, ICOM Membership No: 29766) and Nusantara Museum “NAM” ( ICOM Membership No : 33025) will fully support & cooperate with Government of Malaysia, and abided by the Laws of Malaysia, Act 645, National Heritage Act 2005, an Act to provide for the conservation and preservation of National Heritage, natural heritage, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, underwater cultural heritage, treasure trove and for related matters.
2) Our Museums, as an international member of UNESCO-ICOM, we definitely uphold the Code of Professional Ethics of ICOM, was adopted by the 15th General Assembly of ICOM on November 1986.
3) Our Museums will fully support the UNESCO Convention on The Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural of Cultural Property which was adopted in 1970.
4) Our Museums will educate public : (A) To Reject any items that lacks secure ownership history, unless there is reliable documentation. (B) To Reject items that have been illicitly traded, or (C) any items if there is any suspicion that it was wrongfully taken during a time of unearthed or discovered from our earth or from the seas or rivers or sites, or (D) any items that has been stolen, illicitly imported or exported, or illegally traded in Malaysia.
